Cholla Challenge
Hurricane, April 1

This desert crankfest saw the UMB team ride "into the big time." This was the debut of our pavilion home base (photo at left), and we took second-place in the team competition for this race to move up to #3 for the season. Thanks for the great effort, everybody!

The UMB team pavilion. Well-stocked tool boxes, a workstand, free Gatorade. Matt Flygare (SM 30-39) leads the charge up the slickrock zone.

Chad Hunter (Singlespeed) cranks
through the desert.

In her first UMB race, Jolene Nosack took
1st place in Women 35+.

Dan Lund nails down some team points
with his finish in 10-12.

Evan Christensen joins the UMB team
as our Clydesdale!

Justin Griffin takes 1st place for the
10th time in a row.

Suzie Bria rounds a mesquite bush while
grabbing points in Women 35+.

Bruce (left, M 50+)manages to avoid
injury or equipment failure to grab some
team points, for a change.

Dave Larsen (right, SM 16-18) gets a trip
to the podium for his race effort.

Julie Hunter (left) also catches points for the
team, riding in Beginner Women.

Mike Engberson (SM 30-39, right) fought a great race for 20.5 miles, then watched the field ride by as he lay 1/4 mile from the finish line with leg cramps.

Vince Bria (BM 13-15, left), survived the desert to lock up team points. Here Jolene Nosack is chasing him down.

Sammy Bria (right) made her 2nd UMB
outing of the year in the 10-12 category.

Trevor Simper (left) joins the UMB team as our Pro rider. Welcome aboard!

Twins Dallin and Audrey Searle placed
1st and 2nd in the 9-and-under category.
Great job, guys!
