UtahMountainBiking.com Race Team
Winner of the 2006 Intermountain Cup!

UtahMountainBiking.com sponsors a racing team as part of the Intermountain Cup Cross Country Racing Series. While our team members do other cross-country, 24-hour, downhill, hillclimb, and even road races in the Utah area, the ICup series is our official reason for existing.

What does it take to join the UMB team?

Desire!   You must want to race (no experience necessary).
Bike!
You need a bike. Anything with two wheels will do.
Money?   You need to pay your own race registration fees.
There's no fee to belong to the team.

Time!   You'll need a few free Saturdays during the race season.
(We hope you can ride at least 4 races during the season.)

Is there room for me on the UMB team?

Yes!    We absolutely want at least two riders in each category. Three is better. Four riders is great. But there's no limit.
So no matter what category you race in, or how sadly out-of-shape you are,
if you want to race, we'll make a place for you on the UMB team.
The UMB team is kid-friendly. Several families race with us.

What do you get if you join the UMB team?

Fun! Be a part of something!  Hang with your fellow team members!
At the race, loaf in the shade at the UMB pavilion. Free drinks and good company.

Glory! Get your photo at the race, and we'll put it on our web site!
Mechanical Services! We'll attempt to fix your bike. Free, and worth it.

GU and drink at races!

Fitness!  Get tough.
Freebies!    Cool stuff, such as the UMB training video, yours for free.
The more you race, the more free stuff you score.

Discounts!   Get parts and supplies from the UtahMountainBiking store at reduced price!
(Your discount will depend on how much you've raced -- see the UMB Team Racer Bible.)

Racing Jerseys:  UtahMountainBiking.com racing jerseys are available to team members at $50. This is below our cost. (Intermountain Cup rules say you should wear the official team jersey while racing. But if you're strapped for cash and still want to look awesome, we can find a "loaner" jersey you can borrow for the race.) We also have high-quality team-logo shorts for $40, and socks if you're inclined!
