Airport Trails.  8 miles of trails just west of the St George airport. Unmarked, navigation to trails can be confusing. Range from easy to expert. Season year-round.

Anasazi.  Trail complex within the Santa Clara River Preserve. Multiple riding options, from easy to technical. Petroglyphs, views of the river gorge. Out-and-back on main trail 6.6 miles. Some cliff-side riding. From Anasazi Valley TH, easy family ride to native American farm site and rock art. Season year-round.
Barrel RollPopular Hit!  6-mile loop within the Santa Clara River Preserve. Moderate total climbing but gentle and steady. Views of area. Intermediate technical. Season year-round.
Barrel Trail.  Trail links top of Green Valley raceway DH course (or hillclimb) to the Bearclaw Poppy trailhead, with multiple riding options. Some easily-accessed (but hard to do) off-trail stunt areas including gap jumps and drops. Season year-round.
Bearclaw PoppyA Must-Ride Classic! Singletrack winds around the mesa from Green Valley to Bloomington. Famous Three Fingers of Death, acid drops with Clavicle Hill, and Roller Coaster. Easier technical with some short "walkable" sections of advanced technical. Light climb. Season year-round.
X Black Brush.  Starts at the Barrel Roll trailhead. Signed for horse and foot traffic. 4.2-mile lariat loop within the Santa Clara River Preserve. Please reserve this one for non-bicycle users. Views of area and into Santa Clara River gorge. Season year-round. [information]
Bloomington Micro-Loop. Quick 6-mile ride in the desert west of Bloomington, 2/3 singletrack, intermediate technical, very little climbing. Season year-round.
Bloomington Rim trails. Two miles of expert-leve singletrack on the north side of Bloomington Hill, usually used as an alternate downhill from Uber Zen. Expert-level technical, fairly strenuous riding in the uphill direction. Season year-round.
Bluff Street Cliffs. Also called Owen's Trail. Short singletrack and slickrock ride on north edge of St. George, climbing along the cliffs. Intermediate technical, mild climb. Season year-round.
Broken Mesa Rim. Awesome technical downhill singletrack. For skilled riders, full suspension recommended. Moderate initial climb then long downhill. Loop or point-to-point with shuttle. Season year-round.
Church Rocks. Loop west of I-15 between Washington and Quail Creek. Slickrock and some singletrack. Mild climb, intermediate technical. Season year-round.
City Creek. Popular ride from the red cliffs north of St. George to the northern border of the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve on the Red Hills Parkway. Connection to Rusty Cliffs. Mild climb, intermediate technical, alternate route has advanced-technical slickrock. Season year-round.
Cove Wash. Washbottom ride in the Santa Clara Preserve area, shared with ATVs. 4 miles to a viewpoint over the Cottonwood Wash breaks. Connects to alternate ride options and to Stucki Spring. Season year-round.
Desert Canyons. Trails just off the southern parkway near the Desert Canyons subdivision. Two loops of easier-intermediate riding. Also suitable for beginners. Desert Canyons lariat loop is 3 miles, minimal climbing. Second loop under construction.  (See also Pushing Tin for nearby ride.) Season year-round.
Dino Cliffs Trail. Open rock and desert singletrack, as out-and-back, loop ride, or as a route to Church Rocks or Prospector. Eastern end suitable for beginners. Loop is just over 4 miles, minimal climbing. Season year-round.
Green Valley trail.  See Bearclaw Poppy Trail, above.
GreenValley Race Loop. This race loop starts in the valley between the Bearclaw Poppy trailhead and Green Valley, just southwest of St. George. The official loop can be hard to follow when not specifically marked for racing. Moderate climb, intermediate technical. Season year-round.

Historic Babylon  Historic Babylon is the preferred uphill route for a loop with Little Purgatory. This is a six-mile loop with a highly technical descent over rough rock. Moderate climbing, with big boulders and some steeps with loose rock. Recommended for experts only. Season year-round as snow and rain allows.
Kentucky Lucky Chicken. Loop singletrack ride among embedded boulders on Webb Hill southeast of St. George. Upper-intermediate technical. Season year-round. 
Mega Zen. High-expert alternate descending route off the Zen loop, uses Mega Zen and the Bloomington Rim trails to bypass the usual downhill. Double-black technical, fairly strenuous riding. Significant cliff exposure. Season year-round.
Moenkopi Trail, plus La Verkin Creek. Two rides: up-and-down out-and-back ATV-track, nice views, easier technical with occasional climbing. Around 7 miles in length. Connects to La Verkin Creek gorge ride, head up-creek. Located north of Hurricane, just east of La Verkin. Season March through mid-December. Not recommended during wet weather!

Little Purgatory  This is a six-mile loop with a highly technical descent over rough rock. Moderate climbing, via the Historic Babylon trail. Recommended for experts only. Season year-round as snow and rain allows.

Icehouse Trail  This is a six-mile downhill romp from the base of the Pine Valley Mountains down to Washington. Shuttle or 18-mile loop. Season March through early December.

Nephi's Twist  Nephi's Twist is a short doubletrack ride up a colorful wash near La Verkin. The non-official version includes a highly technical ridge-line ride. But this singletrack can only be found by those who know exactly where it is. Season March through early December.
Owens Trail. Also called Bluff Street Cliffs Trail. Short singletrack and slickrock ride on north edge of St. George, climbing along the cliffs. Intermediate technical, mild climb. Season year-round.
Paiute Trail (Nung'wa Poa).  Two short loops on hill above Springdale, intermediate technical.  Season March through December.
Paradise Canyon. Short loop north of St. George. Features the easier Turtle Wall trail along the sandstone. Links to other trails in the Red Cliffs Desert Preserve. A little climbing, intermediate technical overall. Season year-round.
Pickleball Trail. The SITLA land for this trail system in Kayenta has been purchased by a private developer and is now restricted to use by residents and their guests. Season year-round.
Pioneer Park and Pioneer Rim. Slickrock area on top of the cliffs north of St. George. Two rides: quick and easy; longer and technical. Pioneer Rim has a little climbing, upper-intermediate to advanced technical. Season year-round.

Prospector Trail. This intermediate-technical trail runs along cliffs from Leeds to Washington. Dirt singletrack, little climbing. Connects to Church Rocks. Season year-round.
Pushing Tin. Short but satisfying lariat loop ride south of the St. George airport. Intermediate technical, mild climbing. Season year-round.
Quail Creek West Lakeside Trail. Advanced technical singletrack hugging clay badland slopes. Just over two miles long, done as out-and-back or loop return via paved road. Season year-round.
Quail Creek Overlook System. Multiple loops on sawtooth escarpment southeast of Quail Creek Reservoir, 6.2 mile ride with multiple shorter options. Advanced-intermediate or Expert level riding. Season year-round.
Quail Creek Trail (Red Cliffs Recreation Area). Easier-intermediate singletrack runs from old Harrisburg to join trails from the campground and day area near the cliffs. Connection for loop rides. Fee per car. Season year-round.
Quarry Trail. This easy, short trail extends from the St. George airport to a basalt quarry site on Black Hill, where rock was quarried for the Mormon temple foundation. Trivial climbing, easy technical. Season year-round.
Raceway at GreenValley. This race loop starts in the valley between the Bearclaw Poppy trailhead and Green Valley, just southwest of St. George. Moderate climb, intermediate technical. Season year-round.
Red Cliffs Recreation Area Trails. Easy riding and short loops near the White Reef and Red Reef trailheads, with connections for longer rides -- White Reef, Quail Creek, Tipple, etc. Fee per car. Season year-round.
X Red Mountain Trail. Not recommended. A wilderness study area has closed all but the first 0.9 miles of the trail. You can't bike to the viewpoint any more. The trail is a 2.7 mile ledge-and-rock-strewn climb from Diamond Valley to an overlook above Snow Canyon, northwest St. George. Moderate climb, advanced technical. Season March-December. (Note: There is a "Red Mountain Trail" at Cedar City -- please see Southern Plateau section.)
Rhythm and Blues. Expert-level small loop ride on the skirts of a mesa overlooking US-9 and the Quail Creek road. Short up-and-downs. Season March through December.
Rim Rock, Rim Runner, Rim Rambler, Rim Reaper Trails. In the Santa Clara River Preserve, this system of trails offers various riding options, including easier or more difficult rides. Ride described is 6.7 miles with 600 feet of climbing. Season year-round.
Rock and Roll Option within Rhythm and Blues, forms a slightly-longer expert-level ride on the skirts of a mesa overlooking US-9 and the Quail Creek road. Short up-and-downs. Season March through December.
Rusty Cliffs.  This less-used trail extends from the City Creek trail's west end to a tiny trailhead along Highway 18. Not a horrible trail, but most riders hate it. 1/2 mile stretch of sand; trail can be hard to follow.  Season year-round.
Sand Mountain (Hurricane Dunes, West Rim). ATV track, slickrock, and sand dunes recommended for strong and adventurous fat-bike riders. Season year-round.
Santa Clara River Preserve. Singletrack trails just southwest of Santa Clara. Links to trails within the preserve on this page. Season year-round.
Secret Sauce. Loop trail just off the southern parkway near the Desert Canyons subdivision. 3 miles, minimal climbing. Second loop under construction.  (See also Pushing Tin for nearby ride.) Season year-round.
Sidewinder Trail. Singletrack trail, 5 miles with options for longer rides using Barrel Roll. Intermediate-plus technical, a mile of moderate climbing. Season year-round.. Siler Loop. One-mile singletrack loop trail on Siler Bluff above Bloomington, reached via technical singletrack of a mile of dirt road. Easier-intermediate technical. Season year-round.
Snakepit Trail. Short trail connecting the two sides of the Stucki Springs trail. Offers several different ride combinations from Bloomington, Green Valley, or even Santa Clara. See also Stucki Springs page.
Snow West Canyon Trail. Graded roadway climbs up West Canyon from the bottom of Snow Canyon, north of Ivins. Easy technical, light climb. Season year-round.
Snow Canyon Loop. Paved bike trail that loops from the northwest corner of St. George, through Ivins, and Snow Canyon. (A short stretch in upper Snow Canyon requires use of the road.) Easy technical, but a moderate climb. Season year-round.
St. George Paved Trails.  Photos and map of paved trails in West St. George: Lava Flow, Halfway Wash, Sand Hollow. Summary and links to Snow Canyon Loop and Virgin River Parkway. Easy technical. Season year-round. 
Stucki Springs. Singletrack rocks and rolls through the desert south of Santa Clara, to join the Bearclaw Poppy trail at Clavicle Hill. Loop option using the Raceway. Some climbing. Intermediate technical. Season year-round. 
Suicidal Tendencies. This trail starts off the little loop at the top of Sidewinder in the Santa Clara riding area, dropping through a small valley to a loop on top of the next mesa. It has some technical spots with steep exposures and tight switchbacks. Season year-round.
Sun River. Complex desert badland area with multiple singletrack and doubletrack routes. Two routes are described on this page. Season year-round.
Sunshine Loop. Gravel road with singletrack "main event" forms a loop right at the Arizona border southeast of St. George. Easier-intermediate technical, light climbing. Season year-round.
Tipple Trail (Red Cliffs Recreation Area). Links Red Reef East trail to Adit (connects to White Reef) and Leeds Reef trails. Intermediate aerobically and technically. Fee per car. Season year-round.
Toe Trail. Cindered flat trail on a flood-control dike, plus a bit of singletrack at one end. Good trail for very young children and adults who are total newcomers to riding. Of little interest otherwise. Season year-round.

Toquerville Falls  This is an old favorite ride for the local teens. It's a dirt road to Toquerville Falls. It's 12 miles round trip, and you have to climb over a mountain to get there.  Total climbing will be 2300. Season March through November.
Virgin River Parkway. Paved bike trail from Bloomington into St. George, following the Virgin River. Very easy technical, no climbing. Season year-round. 
Webb Hill.  Loop singletrack ride among embedded boulders on Webb Hill southeast of St. George. Upper-intermediate technical. Season year-round. 
West Rim (Sand Mountain, The Maze). ATV track to slickrock playground. Fat bike recommended due to loose surface and sand on connecting doubletrack. Season year-round.
White Reef (Red Cliffs Recreation Area). Very easy singletrack running north-south through red dirt. Easy both aerobically and technically. Fee per car. Season year-round.
Zen Trail. New Favorite!  6-mile loop in Green Valley on the southwest corner of St. George. Offers quite a bit of advanced-technical challenges, moderate climbing. Season year-round.
