GXT (Graded Exercise Test) Interpretation
Rider ___________________________
Test Date 1 __________ Test Date 2 __________  Test Date 3 __________

Transfer each data point. X data point value is the power generated during each additional sequential minute of the GXT. The Y data point is the heart rate at the end of that minute. Plot HR (Y axis) versus P (X axis) and connect dots into a line. With training, the line should move to the right, indicating higher wattage for a given heart rate.

From the GXT, note point where hard breathing becomes labored and a sense of shortness of breath sets in. This is the VT (Ventilation Threshold). It should occur at an RPE of around 7. Lactate threshold (LT) occurs about one box previously. This point is your lactate threshold heart rate. With training, the LT should occur at a higher wattage.

Lactate Threshold Heart Rate: LTHR 1 _______  LTHR 2 _______  LTHR 3 _______
Lactate Threshold Power (Wattage range): LTP 1 _______  LTP 2 _______  LTP 3 _______
Training Zones as a percentage of LTHR (Z1 recovery, Z2 base, Z3 aerobic, Z4 anaerobic):
Z1 70% LTHR =_____, Z2 85% LTHR =_____, Z3 @LTHR =_____, Z4 110% LTHR =_____
