Season Party The 2010 UtahMountainBiking.com Race Team
season party was held Saturday, September 25 at the Draper City Park
Pavilion. Over 70
racers and family members attended. UMB provided teriyaki chicken and
drinks, with team members bringing specialty dishes, salads and deserts.

| The team picnic honors the racers of the UMB Intermountain
Cup squad, whose season wrapped up at The Canyons on August 7. Our
Endurance Squad racers are still in the middle of their season, doing
those long races such as the Park City P2P, Mt Ogden 100K, and 12 hours of
Sundance.
And as squad spokesman Jason Sparks pointed out, the UMB Cyclocross
Squad goes into action next Saturday, October 2nd at the Draper
Equestrian Center. Our cyclocross squad started up last year, and is a
small but enthusiastic bunch of fanatics. Join us! (Click
the menu ribbon option "Team", then select "Cyclocross
Squad".)

| Workhorse Awards: Six UMB riders
were able to race in all 13 Intermountain Cup events of the 2010 season.
For this effort, (requiring a lot of time and money from the racer), each received a certificate with a photo from each of their races. |
| Season Individual Honors: These season honors were determined by vote of the
team, held by email in the weeks prior to the picnic. Eight individuals received season awards, and were summoned forward to be
embarrassed while Bruce read the glowing comments made about them by their
teammates. |

Over 20 individual racers received votes in the various
categories. Where there was a close 2nd-place, a racer was cited for
Honorable Mention in that category. In their vote submissions, voters also
spoke about many other racers as worthy, although not their top choice for
a specific category.
Our team has won the Intermountain Cup Championship in 4 of the last 5
years, and the traveling trophy cup has now been retired and is
permanently ours. We have also won the IMBA trailwork trophy 4 years
straight. |

Team posters were presented to our racers at the picnic. The
posters were printed as a donation by Chad Waldron!
Our team has grown every year, from 5 racers at the start of the 2004 season, to
114 in 2010.
Thanks to all who attended and brought food! And thank you,
racers, for a great ICup season. Of course, we're
still looking forward to seeing our team members compete in fall endurance races
and cyclocross!
