Jackalope is a loop ride just west of Vernal. It climbs from McCoy Flats to a ridge overlooking the city. The clockwise loop is 8 miles, with an altitude change of 1000 vertical feet, finishing at 6300. The ride is done clockwise, starting with And Cookies for 1 mile before hitting Jackalope. The climb is steady and fairly mellow. The descent has some loose rock on the upper mountain requiring some bike-handling skill.

While driving toward Vernal on US-40, pass mile marker 138, then turn right on a narrow paved McCoy Flats road (unmarked, N40 23.427 W109 35.752). Drive 3 miles to a corral on the left and park there. The trail starts south of the corral as ST at the edge of the dirt road. If you miss McCoy Flats road, go to the viewpoint overlooking Vernal and backtrack exactly 2 miles, then turn left into the road.
