Sundance Spin, Sundance
Resort North Fork Provo Canyon - May 30, 2009 It was a beautiful sunny day at Sundance. Yesterday's rain put the right amount of moisture into the trail. It started to dry out toward the last lap, but dust wasn't a problem. Very fun riding on a great trail system. The sunshine lasted until the award ceremony, with the thunderstorms moving in after the cleanup. The UMB team had first place finishes by Derek Ransom, Jared Muir, Jay Griffin, and Justin Griffin. Second-place wins were scored by Hunter Ransom, Dallin Johnson, Randy Croall, and Ryan Payne. In this race, Mad Dog grabbed the victory with a record-setting number of team points and strong individual performances, taking a big chunk out of our lead in season points. Our UMB racers made some impressive races and earned a respectable number of points, but there just weren't enough of us at this race. It was a great race -- a beautiful day, terrific trailside scenery, and a good after-race picnic. Looking forward to the next one. That's 7 great races done, only 5 more to go.
