Cache Valley Joyride
Sherwood Hills, Logan. June 17, 2006.

This was a great race. The trail had just enough moisture to hold down the dust. Skies were crisp blue. The beginner-class race was held early while it was still cool, with temperatures warmer but still pleasant for riding for the later sport-class. At Sherwood Hills, 15 UtahMountainBiking riders competed in 16 races. We had 4 first-place finishes and 3 second places, with 10 riders hitting team points. Justin Griffin did his usual job of blowing away the competition in 10-12, then went right back out on the trail to take 2nd-place in Sport-Expert Men 13-15. We welcome new team members Shon Hender and Carson Wick, and Tyler Margett's father Russ and brother Ryan. Aaron Smith moved up to Sport 18-29 for this race.

Jolene Nosack rides to a 2nd-place finish in Women 35-plus.	Aaron Smith moves to sport division to take 12th in Sport Men 30-39.	John Van Wagoner catches another 1st-place ribbon riding in Beginner Men 40-plus.


Tyler Margetts makes another great ride to take 1st place in Beginner Men 18-29.	In his first outing of the day, Justin Griffin takes another 1st place in 10-12.	Mike Engberson gets another trip to the podium with 4th place in Sport Men 30-39.

Russ Margetts, father of Ryan and Tyler, races to a 6th-place finish in Clydesdale.	Steve Winters makes his first appearance this season with a 6th-place finish in Beginner Men 40-plus.	After catching the Broken Chain bug from Lynn, Bruce drags across the line "Not Last" at 9th.
