I registered for this race. I have raced in about 80 mountain bike races, but not one road race. I'm a pretty good climber and I would like to do well in this first race. I'm a USCF licensed racer.
Who has raced this? What are the starts like? A mass start or are groups separated in some way? Are the citizen racers started with the licensed racers? I would also like to know exactly where the finish is. I know it's at entry 2, but exactly where?
It'll be a busy day in the canyon. The TOFU finishes at Snowbird later the same day.
Thanks for the info. _________________ "If you brake, you don't win." Mario Cipollini |

I havent done it for a couple years and they start at a different spot now but they send the groups out about a minute apart I think. I think the citizens go out a lot earlier or a lot later but they dont get in the way. The finish is right at the beginning of the entry 2, I'll be with the old 35-44 masters. _________________ My cat can eat a whole watermelon. |

This is very useful information. I have just started mountain biking a few months ago. Do i need sum kind of qualification to take part in this race. What time of the year does this race take place. Road biking should be very simple compared to mountain biking. _________________ DDS in St.Paul |

The road race is held in August. August 22nd this year. No special qualification to race in the citizen race. Just a bike, the entry fee and sign a liability waiver. To race in the licensed category you need a $60 USCF - United States Cycling Federation - annual license. This is a hill climb race up Little Cottonwood Canyon road. You can also choose to race the Ultra Widowmaker and add on a mountain bike hill climb right after the road climb. It continues from the road bike finish to the top of the tram at about 11,000 ft. The road race is 10 miles long the mountain portion is 5 miles. _________________ The bike and components really have very little to do with anything.
